Bump it up

When we went to New Orleans the other week for my sister’s wedding I was starting to think that maybe I had a bit of a bump, but I still felt like I was at the “pregnant or too much pizza” stage of things. I still rocked my awesome king cake maternity shirt. I’m pretty sure New Orleans is the only city I can wear it in and everyone instantly gets it.

Only in NOLA does everyone get this shirt.

I’m really glad I had two dresses for my sister’s wedding. I made it through pictures, the ceremony, and the very beginning of the reception in the main dress (thanks to spanx). I was so glad to have a maternity dress to change into. And they looked so similar that I’m not even sure people noticed the difference.

By the end of our time there, I had certainly “popped”, couldn’t deny the bump anymore, and drove home in my maternity jeans. A little over two weeks later and there is a bump. However I’m now at the weird stage where my regular clothing is too tight, but my maternity clothing is just too loose. Thankfully it’s been pretty warm so I can wear my summer dresses or larger tee-shirts. Also, super thankful for my belly band.

I had a midwife appointment two weeks ago. Everything is looking and sounding good. Bae has a nice strong heartbeat and kept moving away from the Doppler. Not even born and already having opinions. :) We have the anatomy scan set for June 5. I’m both nervous and excited about it.

In the past week or so I’ve started to feel something on and off in my lower abdomen. It’s either the first feelings of movement or it’s gas. Sometimes with pregnancy you never know.
