Steel Rose

I made this rose for my wife, who was at the time my girlfriend. My lab partner and I used a variety of techniques to make the various parts and join them together. We used a welding torch with a rosebud tip to heat the petals and leaves. We shaped them using a ball peen hammer over a ball-shaped anvil. Then we used brazing techniques to attach the petals and leaves onto the main stem. The finished rose was then painted gold.
